Oman Au Shrine
Author: Efrain Silva
This particular shrine is golden with opportunity, and that’s where we’re going to guide you through this time around. In this brief article, we’ll take a quick look and possibly show you some things you may have known but forgotten, not known at all, or maybe even failed to think about altogether. Anywho, let’s get started and jump on in!!!!
So, once you are in the shrine itself, you’ll want to start out by getting the magnesis. How, you ask? By none other than initially interacting with that terminal that’s there, of course!
Next, you will want to use your new best friend —— yes, that very same magnesis you just picked up and who is now your buddy —— to do some moving. But don’t worry, it’s not like heavy lifting or anything, especially since your new metallic, magnet friendly friend is by your side to help you out. Use him to move around those metal plates you see on the ground. You’ll want to jump straight down, right after doing so, and then walk right through that passageway you see and straight on back up to the ground level, respectively.
Your very next move should be to use your buddy once more to either push or pull, as you will, the block of metal you see in the wall. Then, you ought to hop right on through and be prepared for immediate action. Why do I say this???
Well, he he he, that would be simply because you’ll find that the guardian scout, who apparently was hiding behind the wall, is not too happy to see you. Why would he be, after all? You just made an opening through his wall, mind you, and let yourself through to his space. You’re in his reef now, on his territory and terms. (I know that if my apartment neighbor, for one, punched a hole in my wall and let himself into my unit, I would not be too happy himself….so in that sense, I guess I can actually relate with the guardian scout, don’t you agree? But anyhow, he’s still an enemy, and he’s got to go!)
So after you’ve killed him off, get to the very second platform which is above the metallic plate and then turn around. Why? Because you must now use your buddy, again, to move that metal plate over to where it’s now between the 2nd and 3rd plate, respectively.
After this, you should now stand on that third platform and make sure you directly face the giant doors as you do so. If you’re still in the room, you know what I’m talking about. It’s hard to miss. Anyways, here, turn yourself left and use your buddy once more, but this time to pull that treasure chest you see straight down from off its platform.
What’s next? To open it, of course!!!! Lodged inside this rare and beautiful treasure chest (and, oddly enough, I do manage to say that of all my treasure chests whenever I play any Zelda game at all….and if you’ve played lots of Zelda before, you will agree with me that there are indeed lots of treasure chests, and they are all rare and beautiful in my eyes, even the ones that just contain a few rupees), you’ll find your new best friend.
But of course, new friends are never a replacement for old ones, and that means your last little buddy is still a friend to have handy….
Anyways, the Traveler’s Bow, you will now find, is your next best friend. And this guy you will want to keep around for as long as you can since it will make your experience in the game so much better, in many more ways than one...all in all.
One of the coolest things about this whole game, by the way, is that you can get a weapon like this one so early on in the game.
Anyways, the very next thing you are going to want to do is use your first new buddy, the magnesis, to open those giant doors. (See? I told you old buddies can still be as useful as new ones, did I not?)
Then you’re going to want to head straight up those next stairs that come into sight on screen. And at this point, you should not have to worry but simple relax and keep enjoying this special challenge in the game ——- you are almost done with this shrine, by now. So get up and stretch for a little bit (after actually pausing the game, of course). Talk a walk around your neighborhood. Call your buddies and tell them you’ve now almost completed the whole shrine, be it for your first or 500th time.
Do some jumping jacks for a bit. Eat a snack. Play with your dog as you take a brief break. Heck, why not? You have earned it, player….
Now then, continuing up the stairs, you will come across an altar, where you get to meet the one and only, Oman Au. At this point, Oman Au now gives you your very first spirit orb, and you, of course, give yourself yet another great (but not too hard) slap on the back for your achievement.
And keep up the good work, dear player. For every shrine like this one in the game that you beat, you’ll get a similar orb to this one. It’s not a bad little incentive, when all is said and done. And it’s these little shrines that make The Legend of Zelda : Breath of the Wild even more enjoyable.
I hope that you have enjoyed my little rant about the shrine, and the brief guide through it. And I most certainly hope that it helps, and that you spend time checking out some of the other posts on this site, whether you’re a gamer, a gamer wannabe, a gamer used - to - be, or something else entirely. You’ll find plenty of great content here that you can digest!
