Porygon2
Bryan Lance
Porygon2 is an A.I. Digital-type Pokemon that is also known as a Virtual-type Pokemon. They average 2ft in height and they weigh around 72lbs. It shares the same similarities as that of a drinking bird. It has a round pink body, with a blue underside. It has blue feet, a blue tail, and a flat, blue-colored bill. Porygon2 is a genderless Pokemon. It was upgraded so the Pokemon could work in space, but because Porygon2 is unable to fly, it limits this ability. Although this A.I. Pokemon is capable of surviving the vacuum of space, it has a hard time moving around in a zero-gravity atmosphere. Porygon2 is capable of learning new behaviors on its own, this includes information that it doesn’t need to know. Because of this, Porygon2 will sometimes use abilities that are not in its programming. This type of Pokemon is usually found inside of computers and inside labs. Porygon2 and the two other Pokemon that it evolves into are the only three Pokemon that are able to learn the abilities Conversion and Conversion 2.
Porygon2’s Abilities
One of the abilities Porygon2 uses in battles is the ability called Trace. When Porygon2 uses Trace, it is able to copy it's opponent's ability. Trace is able to copy the move Wonder Guard and it can be swapped by Skill Swap. Another ability this Pokemon uses in battle is an ability called Download. When you use Download in battle, Porygon2 is able to compare an opposing Pokemon's Defense and Special Defense stats before it raises its own Attack or Special Attack stat. Whichever one will be more effective. Another ability is an ability called Analytic. When you use Analytic in battle the Pokemon with Analytic makes its move after the Pokemon it originally targeted has already acted their turn, the power of the attacking Pokemon’s move is increased by 30%.
Major Appearances
Porygon2 made its only physical appearance in the movie Kyurem Vs The Sword of Justice. The movie first premiered in Japan on July 14, 2012. And in the United States on Cartoon Network on December 8, 2012. The appearance was just a small cameo in the opening of the movie where every Pokemon from the first 5 generations appeared. Because of the Episode 38 incident that took place in Japan on December 16, 1997, where over 700 Japanese people suffered from epileptic seizures and other related symptoms because of a flashing/strobing effect that happened during the episodes showing, Porygon2 hasn't been shown in the Pokemon Anime. Porygon2 is the only Pokemon prior to Generation 7 to not appear on the show.
